Sacred Geometry Level I:
The Harmony of Space

ONLINE & IN-PERSON COURSE

Learn how the structure of space, gives form to life as we know it. Discover the pattern language of nature, in space, and time. From the spiral of our DNA to the furthest reaches of the cosmos, learn how to listen to the forms of nature.

Why Sacred Geometry?

Improbably, and delightfully, the underlying the patterns of the natural world are a handful of elegant and mysteriously simple harmonic proportions. Sacred Geometry is the study of these proportions in nature,  art, and mathematics.  By exploring the way that they unfold from the perfection of the simple circle, into increasingly more complex components - we have a direct window into the pattern language of nature, that structures all elements of our world.

Course Methodology

Drawing

The compass and straightedge provide the foundation of all understandings of Sacred Geometry.  In these classes you'll learn to use these timeless principles to create beautiful designs.

Discussion

From the structure of DNA, through the rose window at the Chartres Cathedral, from the spiral of a sunflower, to the mystery of the labyrinth. We'll explore the meeting of science, art and mathematics as we unfold the courses.

Meditation

Through contemplative practice, we can explore the way that these patterns inform the body, our health, and well being. In each course our study will be supported through embodied exploration.

Day / Module One

  • The Science of Shape

To begin we’ll explore the discoveries of Western science over the past 40 years, and what they tell us about the shapes that matter and energy follow in our world. In lay-person’s terms, we’ll explore what vibrational physics, electro-magnetism, cymatics, DNA, and holography can teach us about how we perceive the world around us, and how nature uses specific patterns to maximize energy efficiency, and create stable systems.

  • The Seed, Flower and Fruit of Life

Starting with the circle, we yield a 6-fold geometry instantly. From this initial “Seed of Life” comes all the forms that we could possibly create. We’ll explore the history of the Seed and Flower of Life in ancient traditions, and explore through drawing how this 6-fold pattern gives birth to the torus, the vector equilibrium, and the 5 platonic solids.

  • The Perfect Number Phi-ve

Once we’ve had the opportunity to unpack triangles, squares and hexagons from the Seed of Life, we’ll explore the magic of the pentagon and its Golden Section – the ratio that is at the heart of all living systems. We’ll explore why and how life uses this ratio to grow, and how we can draw it.

  • The Startcut Diagram

In the centre of the mundane, boring square, lives a simple diagram of 8 lines, that unlocks the door to proportion, the cosmos, the harmonies of music, and much more. Exploring the pattern with compass and straightedge, we’ll deepen our knowelge of what underlies the principles of resonance, form, and structure.

Day / Module Two

  • The Platonic Solids

Starting with the Vector Equilibrium, we’ll explore how the principles of space packing evolve into 3 dimensions. We’ll investigate the 5 regular geometric forms that are possible in 3 dimensions. Known commonly as the Platonic Solids, these forms structre the bonding of molecules, the orbits of the planets, and the electrical fields around the human body.

  • Sound, Matter & Vibration

Using the lens of acoustic harmony, we’ll explore the way that sound can be used to generate geometric pattens, We’ll discover what the unique qualities of resonance and standing wave vibration can unlock in the body, in the earth, and in contemplative structures.

  • Proportion in Number, Space and Time

We’ll investigate ancient understandings of number, and what qualities different numbers held. From 1-10 we’ll explore the hidden essence of ancient numbers, as it pertains to the art of sacred space, temple building, and wisdom traditions. So that when it comes to crafting our sacred space we can utilize these principles in a good way.

  • Resonance, Structure, and The Earth

We’ll explore the basics of the earth’s electromagnetic field, and the ancient practice of temple building: how and where the ancients built their temples, why they aligned them the way that they did, and the very measurable effects these principles have on health, healing, and the fertility of soil and crops.
